I have a client that is using Lotus Notes that is housed on an NT
Server which is the Domain Controller. My client will be adding a new
Domain Controller which will actually be Windows 2003 Server with
Active Directory. Lotus Notes will continue to be housed on the NT
4.0 Server in the Windows 2003 Active Directory environment. Will I
run into any issues with Lotus Notes in this environment? Basically,
the server that is serving Lotus Notes will not be changed except for
the fact that that server will be demoted to a backup domain
controller and then just a member server in the Active Directory.

Domino servers do not need to be on Domain Controllers, nor do they need to
be on BDC's nor do they need to be on Memeber servers either.

Notes Clients do not use NT Domain Accounts, nor do they need AD accounts in
order to work with the Domino Server.

If your company is going to implement AD in some way it may be worth
integrating your Domino Directory with AD. I have just done this and halved
the amount of Admin in our company.
